European Geoparks are already involved in a variety of activities dedicated to the IYPE both at the national and international levels (European Geopark Week 2008, 3rd International Conference on Geoparks in Terra Vita Geopark - Germany June 2008). We strongly believe that under this new partnership much more will be achieved towards Earth heritage protection and promotion and sensitization of the society on the values of geo-conservation and sustainable local development. Geoparks are hotspots of the IYPE celebration for Earth heritage, geotourism and local development.
